Honey has been a valuable commodity for centuries, but few places have a stronger tradition of honey-making than Yemen, where beehives dot the country's landscape.

But the once-thriving honey business suffered a setback after the September 11, 2001, attacks on the US, when the Bush administration listed Yemeni honey stores as possible fronts for al-Qaeda.

However those working in the industry have dismissed the claims, and say Yemen's honey business is nothing but legitimate.
