San Miguel de Allende is a magnificent location, and is a locale of choice for American and Canadian expats. There is a highly developed infrastructure that supports a sophisticated Expat community. Culture abounds. Real estate here is among the most beautiful in the world, and your dollar can buy you so much more house than in North America. I lead exciting home buyer trips to San Miguel several times a year, and more and more people are discovering what a truly magical place San Miguel is.

Unfortunately the bad news you see in USA are exaggerated and manipulated. I can assure you that must of the Mexican towns and cities are more safe than some ones in USA.In Mexico Mexicans do not use weapons by law.
About the drug war, the problem is focused in the cities close to the USA border because those are the places to introduce it to the biggest drug consumer market in the world.
Any way, in tranquil cities like San Miguel you don´t have to be in the wrong place with the wrong persons.

San Miguel is a truly magnificent location. There is a very large and sophisticated English speaking community here. Culture abounds, and there is an extremely active social calendar. The climate is among the best, with warm, dry temperatures year round. Real estate here is among the most beautiful in the world, and your dollar can buy you so much more house than in North America.
