It goes a LOT further than that.

The arms-dealers wanted to sell weapons to Britain, so they got treaties to do just that; then that led to the US getting into WWI, which led to WW2, the Cold War etc.

And when the Cold War ended, the hippies turned to yep-- GLOBAL WARMING.

The Soviets DID have a lot of nukes... but that was due to US meddling in the first place.

You can't have an empire without expansion--it's IMPOSSIBLE.

Actually most of the deaths are done by head-trauma from flying debris etc. They''re trying to knock down buildings with an air-burst, not fry people with a ground-burst which is far less effective since most of the energy gets absorbed in the ground.

In Hiroshima, the people directly under the fireball were unharmed because the buildings weren't knocked down

So if you protect your head then your chances of survival are greatly increased.
