  • thats exactly what i am trying to get at. Bush Jr had strong reason to believe Saddam had wmds ...

because Bush Sr. had authorized loans and technology sales that had clear applications for wmds. at the time we supported iraq.

oh and Britain was also giving military equipment and radioactive materials to Saddam. so again there was no legitimate reason for the war. it was just another example of imperialism.

  • If you didn't know, Iraq was under U.N. sanctions since 1991. Saddam was told to prove the destruction of his WMDs to lift the sanctions, instead of providing evidence to U.N. weapons inspectors, he harassed them and denied them access to sites of concern. They never said he had no weapons. The CIA thought he had them. Saddam himself admitted to pretending he had them. His generals thought he did.

It would've been a much greater leap of faith to say he didn't have them, than to say he did.

  • eh? That's a pretty revisionist view of history bud, you might want to recheck your numbers, but that requires you to go back to your source, which may require you to consult your proctologist.

But, let's be honest, without the U.S. you wouldn't even have this medium to spew your anti-american vitriol.

  • By slaughtering tens of millions of people US has made the world a better place???

This guy is totally without shame.

  • What information told him there was WMD's?

Besides before the war Bush and Blair told the UN that even if Saddam flees Iraq they were still going in. So much for that being the issue for going to war.

  • How true that Bush was not so wrong in terms of to be judged for thinking WMD were in or going to be in Iraq. He was looking at information.

Now Germany had "hard water" and you never know what could have happened if the war was dragged out longer and Hitler had to make a decision with more time with a losing war years later. Perhaps they would have made a nuclear bomb before the U.S.A.

They certainly were ahead of us on many things.
