  • What is the replacement ?

  • @showaltermicro The F35 Joint Strike Fighter is the planned replacement but not due in service till 2019 at the earliest, and thats if there are no more delays in its development, so nothing in service for at least 8 years which means the Royal Navy is unable to provide its own air cover, therefore reliant on land based air or US Navy aircraft.

  • THOSE AIRPLANES STILL TRICKLING BLOOD FROM THEIR WINGS OF ALL THE INOCENT PEOPLE THEY SLAUGHTERED BUT THE WEIGHT OF HISTRORY SHALL SMASH THE LITTLE UK ISLAND AND SEND IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN!

  • @corblimeymr Maybe to some its not about what the Harrier was but what losing them represent.

To me the millitary should be the LAST place to make cuts. Did you see recantly about the russian naval fleet just outside uk waters? Now imagine if there intensions were bad. We only had HMS york to send to see what was going on. A russian fleet would of sank her within seconds. Hardly any air support eigher. If anything we need to invest more in armed forces. Because you just never know.

  • PRT 2

carriers if they could divert to some land

  • Ok at 1:12 they are sea harriers aparently they have never ever lost a dog fight, but, but, this is big one, (that was a joke) the RAF uses or should i say uesd GR 3' GR 7's and GR9's. they are all air to ground bombers. but sea harriers as i have said they are dog fghters and they were more menoveribale and slightly faster they can carry missiles and their pilots would fly 2000 odd miles off the coast of europe or america or were ever and land unlike the RAF how would only fly off our

  • @ToonandBBfan that is true

  • @corblimeymr

Try to remember that Harriers performed exceptionally well when it really mattered (in the Falklands)

  • CAMERON AND OSBORNE SENT AT HOME 50000 BRITTISH SOLDIERS TO FIND AN HONEST WORK.

AFTER THE SCAPED OF THE LARGHEST PART OF ROYAL NAVY, NOW ONLY 12 OLD BATTLE SHIPS ON SERVICE, AFTER THE CLOSED OF ROYAL NAVY RAF, NOW CAMERON HAS DELETED THE HELICOPTERS RESCUE SERVICE OF RAF.

  • The Harrier was never a good aircraft really. It was designed during the Cold War, for use after all our runways got bombed, but nothing would have been left if that had ever kicked off anyway. They did make carrier flying cheaper but they were slow. I guess nostalgists will argue with me but compare a Harrier with a Typhoon.

  • What a stupid government we have, the harrier is still an awesome plane with many years of service left in it....bloody defence cuts av left us with no carriers & no planes for 10 years...ridiculous
