1964 Ford Falcon Futura Sprint Hardtop Coupe

very nice and very red Falcon, overall nice car, with some modern interior work, and some hot rod upgrades, like cragar rims and a 70s Ford Torino steering whee, that came on a number of cars from Torino to the Mustangs of the time, it even came on some late 70s Ford trucks as a option, and from the looks of it a Small Block Ford powers this very red Falcon, in fact even the motor is red! also it appears to be a floor shifted automatic, all around nice car, i would be proud to own this car, and i bet its fun to drive, and i had no idea the Falcons had year specific grilles, in till i just did some further reading to id the year of this car, and i really like this one year only '64 grille. Also the sporty Falcon's lost sales to the very popular Mustang this year, and that trend would continue into '65-'66 and on ward, but in some sense the Mustang sales numbers could be tacked onto the Falcon, since the early Mustang was based off the Falcon platform.

This Falcon in the video is 1 of 13,831 of this model, and would have cost around $2,436 new, and it weighs around 2,813 pounds, also this model appears to be a original V8 car, it would have came with either a 260 or a 289 Windsor V8, its difficult to say now, could even have a 302w under the hood now, something Ford Fans would have had to wait for to at least 1968 when the next step in Windsor family motors would grow to the 302w which went on to become one of Fords most famous engines,

  • Hey, Brent...the license tag says it all...Real Red!

Very nice car, nice matching upholstery with the red/black theme! Great ride....nice job! :) Jack

  • yep sure is Red Jack! :) and it is a very nice example, and the updated interior is nice, i am a purest, but it don't look half bad, and it matches the paint quite well, even the rims fit the car, i often see non period modern huge rims, and i just shake my head, retro rims just have to go on classic rides, no way around that! :) and thanks for the comment Jack :)

  • Nice one, color match is almost flawless.

  • your correct, the color match is great, i was looking at my door panels and roof headliner, from what i can see the red doesn't match right on, neither does the bench seat, ah well, i plan on re-doing the bench seat down the road, then i can work on a better matching red,and possibly paint the door panels, i know there is tons of prep work with the plastic door panels, but for now i will just put them in, the color is off, but not that off, once i get things together i will update in the next week
