This is probably the most hilarious vid on youtube... 5:30 is one of the best parts :) And my boyfriend loved the idea of teaching with a piano in the background!

Did Lacan talk about the mirror/mask/momento mori/true self/god thing? Also, did he talk about "transcendental alchemy"? How do we get from "True self" to "god"? Is it that knowing "true self" is mortal, we ask "what is immortal?" and "god" is the word we use to describe whatever that "immortal" might be? Very curious. And awesome vid btw! :-)

Thanks for your comments! Lacan's moment of alchemy is tied into social castration, the movement from child to adult, but that move is all but forgotten in our modern "command to enjoyment" social order. In LACAN HOUR 2 I'll be looking a lot at that. Right now, in the film, it's kind of the reverse, with the pac man, re-claiming the phallus through eating it.
it's meant to funny and promote interest in theory by taking the stuffed bourgeoisie sanctimony piss out of it.
