  • @MetalHeadEmperor Gave it a listen, and you were right, it's not as bad as I first thought. Doesn't even touch their older stuff IMO, and I'm not a fan of the vocals/production, but even Atheist's misfires are better than most other bands. Tortoise the Titan kicks ass.

  • @Blues0824 true man... i actually really liked jupiter, i thought this band was going to fail for being gone so long.. but i thought it turned out quite nicely.. you should give it another listen... when your relaxed as well.. haha... i bet you will fall in love with it.. but i might like their old stuff more.. but jupiter was a great runner up :) IMO

  • @MetalHeadEmperor I'm not sure I'd call them fusion death metal. On Elements, sure, but on UQ and (less so) PoT, I'd say Tech Death with jazz influences. Can't speak for Jupiter, haven't heard enough of it. (But to be honest, I don't plan to either. What I have heard has disappointed me.)

  • intel- metal .........just like (like) Textures ( no comparison)

  • @Greensmurf that sucks man, he was good

  • @KillJoy353 Yeah. His hands are all messed up now due to carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis. He plays some rhythm in the studio, but that's all he can really manage nowadays

  • wait what...didn't he used to play and sing?

  • It's a shame Kelly's voice is totally fucked these days. =(

Because he was DAMN good at abrasive screams.

  • @Progressification It's hardly 'plain death metal'. Compared to 'Elements' is it, but even the sticker on the album at the time 'death metal with a difference - you better believe it'.

  • yeah but theres also some progressive moments and a little spanish influence(seen a lot more in elements as opposed to their other album) and its also pretty techinical so itd probably be in techincial death metal
