Pfizer - Inspiring Excellence - Business in the Community Ireland

Pfizers Commitment to Improve the Health of Young People in Ireland was selected by Business in the Community Ireland in 2009 as an excellent example of a long-term commitment to bring about real and lasting change that will have a significantly positive impact. We have been greatly impressed that Pfizer has taken the lead to tackle the public health challenges of obesity and smoking in young people - the two issues that are the major causes of diabetes, cardio-vascular disease and cancer. Working in partnership with the Department of Education and other key stakeholders, Pfizer has developed a national programme and produced practical tools for children and teenagers to inform them of the benefits of making healthier lifestyle choices.

Every year, Business in the Community Ireland collates examples of best practice in corporate responsibility in its member companies. This annual compilation, Inspiring Excellence shines a light on excellence in place in leading companies in Ireland, in order to engage and inspire businesses of all sizes to promote and communicate their own responsible practices
