In this drill, the practitioner learns to evolve his defensive tactics from the shielding and blocking to deflecting. The target (in this case, the head) has to move out of the way of the force, in a natural way, in order for the deflection to work.
This clip was filmed in a Systema fistfighting seminar, that took place in the Athens Academy of Jeet Kune Do Fighting Technology, Greece, on May 17th, 2008, with instructor Spyridon Katsigiannis from Systema Sweden - Gothenburg. systema.goteborg@gmail.com
@jaimeneves systema isn't about techniques, it's about drills and exercises. You kinda teach yourself. it isn't for everyone and that is why you get a lot of crap, but you can say that about any art. It is only for the practical mind

I worry a bit about balance and fatigue, but it does seem like a highly effective method of redirecting strikes in confined spaces etc.

Very nice. For the first time the first realist systema technics against punches. no fake and no jumping moves.
