Public transport in Sydney does suck though....

And people wonder why these diggers came home absolutely disgusted at some civillians complaining about long bus queues or warm beer at their local.

@OzisGodscountry there was many hereos in new guinea my pops both fought there , i rekon most would be rollin in there graves at the sick people running the country at the moment the country they fought and gave blood and life for what is now just a dumping ground

@rickandgordo Blamey was a good leader at Gallipoli but useless at Kokoda due to his own self prervation. He wanted to preserve his career as a competent leader but failed miserably
-
@itchyundies How about the guy (his name eludes me) who, after his ankle was blown apart, crawled half the track because he believed others were worse than him and didnt want to take away the fuzzies. He crawled fdor days untill the japs ovver ran his position. Now thats bravery
-
@itchyundies Hardcore alright - and he was one of many who performed like that
-
Its sad but McArthur was a bit of a glory hound.

haig ww1 was a complete imbecile, slaughtered his own troops as well as the dominion troops, had no idea. blamey was just as bad. ralph honor was a man of integrity and honour and he alone helped the aussies win the battle of the kokoda track, god bless this man!
Blamey was a disgrace as was MacArthur. interested only in their own careers they let the troops down . Even going as far as to insult them after a super human effort. They had absolutely no awareness, either tactical or stategic, of the situation in Papua New Guinea. horrifying really.
