@jmpnjakflsh thats one of my favorite things to hear. i moved from LA to seattle this fall and I am determined to get back so i can hear vin. no summer would be right without him
-
i think i was at this game. i was drunk too. was this the one where they played the red sox and got beat like 8-1 or something? not that the score mattered, that was something very special to be a part of.
-
You were drunk? Really? hard to believe.

I was not there on that day, but I was there the following day. I moved to the midwest later that summer, but have always been a Dodger fan - of sorts. My travels eventually took me to to Chicago where I have resided since 1976. I have been priviledged to see and hear some great announcers here, too, such as Harry Carey. There's no question, though, that Vin Scully is the greatest in history - by far.
-
I grew up listening to Vin Scully in the early 1960s. What times! He had two sons named Kevin and Michael and I also have two sons named the same but it wasn't planned that way. I met him at Wrigley Field walking up to the radio booth and got his autograph back in 1979.

isn't that LA Colosseum? isn't the left field line wayyy too short? a normal fly ball would've been out of the park for a home run!
-
can i meet you grandpa??
-
" Hello everybody and a very pleasant good evening to you wherever you may be". I have been listening to that sign on since I was a little kid more years ago than I care to remember. Vin Scully is the best there is. LA has been so fortunate to have the announcers that it has had. Vin Scully, Chick Hern, Dick Enberg and Bob Miller. It just does not get any better
-
Vin Scully is my grandpa.....ill bet you that all of you are not going to believe me my name is C.Michael Scully, Michael was his son and my dad that died on the day i was born
-
I really enjoy Vin Scully!!! My dad and I watched him at home announcing games. a really nice sounding voice and he is still announcing!!! I rmember hearing his voice with my dad watching baseball games.
Vin Scully and the late Chick Hearn...no one did it better.
