Well lorddennis it depends on what your definition of magic is. If magic is pulling a rabbit out of your hat than yes that is silly.
But to many magic is an inspiring or outstanding event. For instance, I'm sure that many people in the 70's thought the moon landing was "magically" cause they never dreamed it possible.
Perhaps you may be right, but I strongly disagree with the need to appeal to an audience by dumbing down the language, phrase, or anything else. If you really think about it, this video says absolutely nothing concrete. Besides what do all those things that were said have anything to do with Michelle Obama?
Firstly, I never said magical was "dumb" language. Secondly, they never said "magical," they said magic. Magic isn't an adjective. Thridly, what does that have to do with VFX. And lastly, this short piece had everything to do with Michelle Obama, if you bothered to actually listen to it.
If I was condescending, then perhaps I should say it was not my intention. I think pieces like these appeal to people's ignorance, as I'm sure most people do believe in much of what was said in here. If you don't think that it connects to Michelle Obama, then why would you consider any part of it valid since they are following the logic: I believe in good things, therefore I believe in Michelle Obama. And I'm not sure this has anything to do with VFX (visual effects?).

The word magical is "dumb" language?
I think it's a great adjective. Whether it has anything to do with Michelle Obama I don't know. I am just speaking at an VFX stand point.
And I what I meant was, I'm not sure if these words connect to Michelle Obama either.
The video and audio tracks (Audio track being the part we were discussing) is a part of VFX because it translates the message of the video.
So no real reason to be rude.
