ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Authorities recovered the body of a construction worker this evening after a multi-agency search in the Manasquan River near Brielle, N.J.

The body of the man, whose name is unknown at this time, was recovered when the capsized barge on which he was working was salvaged from under the Route 70 Bridge.

The name of the man will be released following the notification of his next of kin, to be conducted by the New Jersey State Police.

Search and rescue coordinators from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, in Point Pleasant Beach, N.J., were contacted regarding the incident at about 3:50 p.m.

Involved in the search was a Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet 25-foot response boatcrew and a New Jersey State Police rescue boatcrew. Searches were also conducted by a Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City rescue helicopter crew and the Avalon, N.J., Fire Department.

Another man who entered the water was rescued soon after the accident and was transferred to a nearby hospital.There is also a report of diesel fuel in the water.

The cause of the accident is not known at this time.
