The legend of this song as told to me is the woman and the baby was starving to death during the potato famine. Weila Walia was the baby crying. She could not longer stand not having food for the baby and killed the poor child so it would no longer suffer.
RIP Luke and Ronnie you have no idea how you helped me cope when I was growing up..
