Here's an excerpt of Tin-Shi Tam, the carillonneur at Iowa State University in Ames, playing the 50 bells from the keyboard room in the Campanile tower. (I think this piece is Johann Pachelbel's "Aria Sebaldina.") This was recorded Wednesday, Sept. 1. Tam features requests and pop music covers on Fridays and recently scored a YouTube hit with her Aug. 27 carillon cover of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."

  • AWESOME.

  • @AJHalliwell this could have saved the hunch back of notre dame some time with tolling the bells

  • I've never even seen a device like that before o.o; I thought bell towers just had a big bell in'm.

  • Wonderful playing!

Even sounds good from inside the cabin (room in which the baton-clavier is located)
