I think that Tradewest should have used a different animation for the toads climbing on the snakes.

Strangely in my Genesis version that rockets could hit me and fireballs too when staying near screen border.
But otherwise this game part is hard. It cost me much time to learn getr through this.

Robo Manus is 10x easier to juggle in the GEN version as well. =/

The GEN version utterly ruined Volkmire's Inferno... First of all, WATER is the deadly liquid in this version? To a toad? It's lava in the NES, which makes much more sense given the nature of the level.
There weren't any free rides through the 2 projectile segments either. The fireballs had to be dodged completely, and while you could entirely avoid the lower rockets by hugging the bottom of the screen, you definitely had to dodge the top ones. The barriers appeared faster as well.
