  • Hey Will,

Could you do an installment just on how that cd drive is gonna drive the elevator? I've got a model coming in that I'd like automate the doors on and was thinking a cd motor would be perfect. The doors need to stop at their end of travel and reverse to close. The mechanism will be more complicated than I think, but the motor is the basis of it all. Thanks. Keep these cool projects coming!

    ! * * * * * !

  • I could do a video on that, its a good idea. but the motor is built right into the diorama as of now:( Maybe after it's all done. You have to tinker with the motor , reversing the polarity reverses direction. I glued a string to the gear.

  • I see. I've got leds down pretty good and tinkered with one small motor previously, but don't 'get' a few things yet, like how to stop the motor by itself, how to get the polarity to reverse, probably some more too. Maybe I could email a quick sketch to you sometime?

    Thanks for all your vids!!!

  • sure, email me a sketch! To reverse the polarity all you need is the right switch.

  • sweet i hope to see it soon. When i get the materials i'm gonna got to your site and print the instructions or just make it while i'm making the video and pause when i need time. I watch alot of your videos and subscribed to you. I'm glad a creative man like you share you passion for sculpting and art with the world on Youtube. Keep making your nice dioramas! (p.s. even though i don't have real wood in my trail walls and its mostly

sheet-rock i'll just place my diorama onmy desk.)

  • Hi Jordan! thanks for subscribing. Plenty more projects coming. you have fun with your projects and keep improvising!

Hope you don't mind waiting a little longer :)

  • hmm, great idea. I will give it a try and see what it looks like. I will probably try several options. Gives people options on what they can try.

  • Nice! Send it to me when its done! Be glad to post it to my website:)
