I don't get the illusion.
can somebody explain it to me?

The whole piece is an illusion.
It's an illusion that she can dance again after getting ill well enough to perform on stage, if you notice at the end she became an animator instead of a ballet dancer. So although the piece depicts triumph at overcoming adversity it also shows you can find happiness where you didn't expect.
The definition of animation itself is the illusion of movement - it's really just pencil & paper & multiple still frames played together to trick the eye.

Very nicely animated but the dancers become a little repetative towards the end.

Thanks.
The repetition is on purpose and forms an integral part of the story.
She is practicing to dance for the stage - hence the movements need to be the same movements.
Also, if you see the ending, she is practicing the art of animation itself, hence during the practice version of the movements she looks like a mannequin rather than a character.
