Here we use a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) equipped with an electroshocker and suction sampler to collect slimy sculpin at Lake Michigan's Mid-Lake Reef Complex. Using this technique we are able to estimate slimy sculpin abundance and determine their diet. We can then determine how they may be effecting lake trout restoration efforts.

The shrimp-like creatures in the second portion of the video are actually Mysis diluviana (the name was recently changed from Mysis relicta). It's a deepwater Mysiid species that is much like oceanic krill (euphasiids), but in Lake Michigan.

  • is there a caridina?
