  • Very tasteful and inventive playing, with some nice "out" moments. Kuhn is someone whom I heard of years ago when I first got into jazz(late 70s) but didn't really check out.

    All your videos are great- one of Uri Caine on Fender Rhodes leaps to mind. A question: where did you get a video like this?

    A stray thought- this is from 1969 when rock reigned supreme and diverted some talented young musicians away from going into jazz. It's great that a young guy like Kuhn stayed true to his calling.

    This is from a recent broadcast on German TV. Its from the Berliner Jazztage festival in 1969...

    Kuhn's 70s ECM output (Trance, Non Fiction, etc.) is more to my taste as its still very contemporary even today... so I think he did deviate a lor back then... now I think he's back to the standard sound I think...
