Chapter 30 pt 1 : The Date

Kevin pulls into the parking lot at the Starbucks, he scans for Lisa's car but doesn't see it. He looks at his watch 10:25, "Made good time. I guess she's not here yet." He gets out and trots to the entrance. He opens the door and enters, peering around he notices that there are a few other people sitting at the tables spread throughout the place. He walks up to the counter thinking *should I order for her? I don't know what she likes though.* The Barista is staring impatiently at him waiting to take his order. He decides to order just for himself, just as he is about to open his mouth he catches movement at the door. He looks over to see Lisa enter; his heart skips a beat as he watches her step forward through the door. He notices as her serious expression changes to a broad smile when she spots him at the counter. As she approaches, he looks her up and down; she is so beautiful, even after spending the all day is a stuffy studio. "Hey There Beautiful." He says as she gets closer. She blushes and brushes her hand nervously through her hair "Hey there to you too. You look pretty good yourself." She exclaims as she checks him out. She gives him a hug and he squeezes her tight. The guy behind the counter clears his throat, trying to get their attention. Kevin lets go reluctantly and looks at him "Oh! Yeah right, what are you having?" he asks Lisa. She orders "Grande Low Fat Mocha Frap." The Barista nods and then looks at Kevin "Make that Two." Kevin pays for the drinks and points to a table in the corner at the back. "Go sit, I'll bring them over." She nods, he watches her as she glides towards the table and sits "Sir!" Kevin's thoughts as he watches her are interrupted by the guy holding out his drink order. "Oh, Thanks" he mutters as he goes and sits with Lisa.
He sets her coffee down in front of her. "Thank you" she says looking at the face she had missed seeing for 4 days. She takes a sip "Mmmm, Oh that's what I'm talking about. That crap they've been giving me. Argh!" Kevin sniggers,and asks "So besides the coffee, how was you first LA job." She grins "It was really good. I was so nervous when I walked in there, but when I saw Colin was behind the controls it was a great relief." "Colin?" Kevin asks feeling a knot grow in his stomach. Taking another sip Lisa continues "He was the engineer. I'd worked with him a lot in Vancouver. I had been wondering what had happened to him. I found out he moved down here a year and a half ago. He was really happy to see me here as well." The knot in his stomach, growing into full pangs of jealousy he asks "Are you seeing him again...I mean are you working tomorrow?" Lisa answers "Nope, Thank God, we finished... We had to that's why we were so late. We were doing backing tracks for a soundtrack and they need them by Thursday. It's a good thing too because Susan arrives tomorrow." Kevin feeling a little relieved enquires "Oh yeah! Have you heard from her?" "Uh huh, (she says taking a sip of coffee) ...This morning she was almost to San Fran. She was going to visit with some family and stay over night. She should be here tomorrow around 2:00." "Good, I really want to meet her, (he gives her a sly smile) maybe she'll give me some dirt on you." "Hey! (she slaps him playfully) What kind of dirt? You could always ask me you know." "Yeah, I know but it's more fun this way." He winks and smiles devilishly. She bites the side of her lower lip willing herself not to blush. "So, did you get all your stuff put away?" He asks. "Yeah I did, it took all weekend. You won't recognize the place when you come over." She looks down takes a big gulp from her cup. "So how was your trip?" "It went great, the concert was a hit. I also had so much fun hanging out with Frankie again; it's been quite a while, we spent a lot of time horsing around at the pool. I swear that Kid is a Fish. The only pain in the ass was Joe, trying to get me a date." Lisa looks up surprised "Why was he doing that?" Kevin realizing that he shouldn't have said that "Oh...he...just...that's what Joe does, it's usually an older sister or friend of someone he likes. *saved*. Lisa questions "So there wasn't anyone that sparked you interest?" Looking down at his coffee he peeks up at her shyly "No, not There at least." She feels her cheeks warm as he gives her a flirty smile. There is and awkward silence as they nervously look around, both trying to figure out what to say next...............

I usually hate awkward silences cuz i hate when pple dont talk to me or are to shy or wat ever but i luv wen Kevin and Lisa have their moment of awkwardness!!!
