Emil Werstler from the band Daath and Levi/Werstler teaches the approach of playing to the chord you are on in a progression rather than just playing in the diatonic key. This is an abbreviated video so for the full lesson and more examples check out : http://www.jamplay.com/?s=19&c=252

  • @markinsacramento Just look at the top. It's EXACTLY the same thing you should see when you look down at your own fretboard!

I liked the camera angle. Idunno.

  • AWESOME!

  • I probably shouldn't be on this vid, since I'm not really a candidate for advanced theory, since I don't even know the minor pentatonic. But still I am...

I have a question for though: The reason why you change scales following the chordprogression instead of just playing a single diatonic scale, is that because the blues only has dominant chords?

  • can't wait to see what he'll do in Chimaira.

  • he sound like Dexter
