  • I think this movie proves that Ted Healy was useless in the chemistry of the Three Stooges; like putting cheddar cheese on vanilla ice cream. I, so far, don't see what the attraction to him was. He seems like a stranger to everything.

  • @monk22yrs Yeah this was before they perfected that side of their act.

  • @perfectjazz78 It does sound very like her voice, taken evidence from the Desert Song, is there any surviving fuller cast list for the March of Time, apart from the IMDB list?

This clip was about the earliest I remember seeing as a child as an example of early Hollywood colour film.

  • all about sound efects---slapping doesnt work without the right sound effects.

  • @pointe2087 Yeah, it's painful to watch. In Moe's biography he said there was alot of swearing going on after a take where there was a lot of slapping each other. Btw, everyone does know that the heavy makeup, especially the eye-liner, was so the face would show up better on the old film.

  • I wince everytime poor curly gets slapped. There's an obvious reality to it because you can tell it's not a sound effect like in the Stooges' shorts. Mean ol' Healy. :( I don't mind when Moe smacks people because I know he was sweet and never hurt anyone if he could help it, but Healy is another story.

  • @swallin19 I am convinced the operatic soprano singing during the fan number is Carlotta King. Female lead of The Desert Song in 1929, she is listed on the cast from March Of Time

  • @BandakaKush I know, I mean I just love that! At that time gangsters were all over the place and the safest place to put your gun was under your child's pillow!

  • @HeilEvilCupCake Must be. Like after Curly became ill and couldn't work anymore and Moe put aside part of his salary to pay Curly's medical bills and had Larry and Shemp do the same. I know a lot of people who would never do that even for their own brother.

  • @TheBookWorm1718 Moe was just a huge softy no matter how tough he came out on the screen.
