A video for anyone who believes the so-called "consensus" is backed by solid science.

The CO2:Temp plot is found here...

The first two graphics used to be found here...

Now they are found here...

  • I'm sorry, I'm not sure I can buy this. This is a very small subset of research on the topic of climate change. Second, as a scientist, I know that there are often wording and techniques we use that might seem fishy to lay people who don't understand what we're doing. When I say "I'll fiddle with the data and come back with something that looks better" I, at no point falsify data, though it may sound that way. Third, you have to ask yourself why? Why would they go through all this trouble?

  • @landfillpoet

If you'd like to debate me on any point, I'm game.

I assure you there is no misunderstanding on my part about the wording ("nature trick", "hide the decline", etc.). I did not accuse Jones & crew of doing anything that they did not readily admit to. I kept the "why" of it out of this video because it was directed at certain (nameless) people who accused me of being ignorant of the science. If you'd like some speculations as to the "why", I'll send one to you via PM.

  • continued...

So which of the point/s are you not sure you can buy?

  • @gunsandbullhorns I'm not really game for debating this subject precisely because I am not an expert in it, which is the criticism I level against people who criticize this field but are not experts in it. However, I would be interested in exchanging some PMs over the why. I'm genuinely interested here, because I feel that is the crux of the argument and have never heard an answer (though I don't spend much time looking, admittedly.)

  • Cool. I've got to sleep not. I'll PM you when I wake up. Cheers! ;D

  • Thanks for this vid. I can´t hear all these crybabies about global warming anymore, there´s just so many points that argue against it.....apart from that, what should we rahter spend billions on: Actual scientifical proven problems, as deforestation etc. pp., or some semi-scinetist´s apocalypse theories?

  • love it. you guys are one of the few rational people around here. if you havce any more of this kinda stuff please message me, id love to watch

    thanks

    phil

  • 1) According to Jones or Mann (if my memory serves), "the decline" is the divergence problem between Briffas latewood tree-ring data and instrumental data. I think it's obvious that the "decline" refers to the down-slope in Briffa (green), as seen in the Nov 24 update.

    2) I assume that "Mikes Nature Trick" is a trick that Mike used for a different graph published in 'Nature' magazine.

    3) The proxies were "cooked" by adding in false data, so that they would agree with the instrumental.
