@Mavarin - I knew young Scrooge looked familiar ! Turlough ! I like both the George C. Scott version & Patrick Stewart's Christmas Carol, even though it's actually been 2 or 3 Christmases since I've managed to see either one, for some reason. They're both great adaptations of this classic / iconic story.

This is the best version of A Christmas Carol. Second is the Patrick Stewart version.

I don't suppose anyone knows the name of the fiddle tune from this scene?

This is the best version of "A Christmas Carol". George C Scott was the best.

one of the best live action versions of the story.
it is worth watching and you WILL cry at the end of this movie.

@binkle1 Both Scott and Alastair Sim are excellent, but Scott I think does it a bit more naturally without overracting. The graveyard scene is so powerful, that's where you can really see the transformation. Sim, I think, overacts a bit at times, but still does a great job

For Doctor Who fans - young Scrooge here is played by Mark Strickson, who played Vislor Turlough on Who. It's nice to see him in a completely different role.

@fallboyout George C. Scott portraying Scrooge puts Carrey to shame. Of course, Jim Carrey is pretty much a joke (literally and figuratively) and one of the most f**king annoying actors of all time.

I love how Scrooge flashes an ironic smile then turns his face downward upon hearing his younger self promise to "go through life with a smile" on his face. It's a subtlety Scott brings to Scrooge that no other actor has displayed.
My palls dad is in this scene!
