Im from bolton missisippi where they were from and i have heard that charlie patton andbo carter may have been half brothers and the chatmons had a brother named larry who was also a musician who played with the family for a little while.
-
Im pretty sure it was not directly related; perhaps cousins. Armenter "Bo Carter" Chatmon was a member of the Chatmon family, and was brother to both Sam Chatmon & Lonnie Chatmon. Check out the Mississippi Sheiks to hear some of Lonnie Chatmon's blues fiddle along with Walter Vincson's Guitar and Vocal.

Wasn't Bo Carter related to Charlie Patton?
-
Most people just know him for is bawdy songs but hes was much more than a novelty singer, thanks for this!

That picture of Bo in the beginning is more than enough evidence that Charlie Patton was a half brother of the Chatmons.
