Beautiful Ghazal of Saif-ud-Din Saif which was sung so perfect in the initial days of Shahida Parveen after she had sung Zahoor Nazar's Ghazal Deepak Raag hay Chahat Apni and got immensely popular.. Sorry to say but other than these two ghazals am reluctant to give any sort of ranking to her singing whether it is light classical or pure shastria sangeet cuz her mother Zahida Parveen had really set some very tough standards of singing classicals as well as Kaafi singing which Shahida could never reach. The only contribution she has in my eyez (apart from these two ghazals mentioned) is her place as filler for light music tv programs which just served temporarily and thats all.. I have listened to Meri Dastan-e-Hasrat by Zahida Parveen. Her Raag Durga is yet to be matched by any other Gaik. Having said that I must comment on her daughter's career. First of all she followed her mother's style. Despite that she had to sing compositionsof music composers at PYV and Radio Pakistan. She used to sing a Raag in Ahang-e-Khusrovi at Radio, Lahore every month. She also participated in PTV's Raag Rang. She was a very amiable person. We sang a classical duet for PTV as well.

Doc sahab.. thanx for comments.. kisi bhi big celebrity ki aulad hona qabil-e-fakhr baat to hoti hogi lekin at the same time ye bahut baRa rog bhi ban jata hay kabhi kabhi especially agar aap wohi geet select karen jo unhoon nay bhi gaya ho..to baRay say baRa analyst bhi khud ko unkay baahmi mawaznay say nahi rok sakta..aur aksar wahan parent singer baazi lay jata hay :-)

Doc. bhai do you know Saif-ud-din Saif was in our Family Bussiness from late 50,s to 70,s . we used to call him uncle ,one of my brother had interest in poetry & Saif sahibh used to check his poems .Now my brother has his own small DEWAN in Canada Takhalasss "SABA". Nice upload .Doc. do you have SAIF, sahibh,s "Appni Tasweer ko dill say laghata kiya hay " A.Nayyar sang on PTV. when he was rocky back in 1973. It was wonderful ....later i heard Ghulam ali sang in his own style !

Yes it is responsibility to carry forward the legacy of great artists specially if you are their off-shoots. Naturally nobody can be greater than Mehdi Hasan, Ustad Ssalamat Ali Khan, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan or Zahida Parveen but all one can do id to pay tribute. Shahida in her own right (if not compared with her great mother) was a great artist. She sang well. She behaved well. She meant no harm to her competitors. In the process she left ghazals like Kaya Gham-e-Jaan Aur Kaya Gham-eJanaan etc.
