My Daewoo vcr eats the tape when you load the cassette; if someone can help me I'll really appreciate it.

  • its usually a brake if its throwing tape out like this, when the guides pull out the tape they do it at such pace that if there brakes weren't semi on then this is what happens, on the supply reel there is usually 2, one for stopping the supply real at high speeds and general tape stopping an another which is always on when the tape is running, if you look down at the supply real your see a felt band that wraps around it, it's usually this that's at fault if it's chucking tape out on loading.

  • @ElvisRocksVinyl Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it!! Unfortunately this crappy vcr was junked away after it caught fire (there was a catastrophic power supply failure) and it does not exist anymore.

  • Ok guys, this vcr is now... dead!! The power supply suddenly caught on fire the other day and now the main circuit board is like toasted bread!! Crappy vcr!!

  • A Newer videorecorder is also able to switch tv chanels. Rf 36 means the channel with is selected . so i think

  • @CarwashMairhuber I don't think that RF 36 is the channel selected because it always keep flashing and I'm not able to surf between the channels. I think that's a sort of error code but I don't know what kind of error. I've already cleaned the mode switch and the tape sensors but nothing, it always keep flashing RF 36 and it eats my tapes!!

  • I think the vcr is good for wastebasket and you have to buy a new vcr

  • Suckerification of tapes!

  • The problem here.is that the supply reel is spinning after insertion. This could be due to a faulty sliding gear/brakingmech or some foreign object trapped near the spool clutch. On these decks, I have also had to dismantle and clean the mode switch. This is under the large white plastic assmbly at the rear right of the deck when seen from front. this gets clogged with grease and no longer tells the micro processor the right position of the mech.send me a message if you need more explanation

  • This VCR is probably trying to give the head slack automatically but is spilling out because it is too much.

  • Brake on the left wheel is ok?
