have to say that that is a very interesting picture of Thomas Cranmer (1:59 ). To the left of the picture is some very odd looking symbolism... The Green man, and some sort of she-devil and what ever it is that she is riding..... Just an observation.

To condemn the King James Bible as an inferior expression of the Word of God is bigotted, i.e an irrational prejudice. The Holy Spirit obviously moves within the beauty of the translation. This is just one more reason why I, as a 39 article English Protestant who's church was founded by men who were MURDERED fighting Rome will always consider Pentacostals with suspicion.

Great Presentation, BUT the picture you used for James VI & I is actually his son, Charles I.

Friend, the picture at 7:15 is of King Charles I who was Catholic inclined and executed by Oliver Cromwell the Puritan.

8TH CENTURY,THE FIRST TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE IN TO ENGLISH LANGUAGE: By Aldhelm, the Bishop of Sherborne, and Bede. A 9th century translation of the Bible in to English (Anglo-Saxon the dialect of its time) was made by Alfred. A tenth century translation in to English was made by Aelfric.(7) , By 1361 a translation of most of Scripture in the English dialect (Anglo-Norman) of its time had been executed.(3) This was twenty years before Wycliffe's 1381 translation (3)

The picture of James the First is actually of Charles the First, from later in the 1600's. He was actually decapitated by Cromwell and a slight majority of Parlaiment.

Remember Christians, the will of God is no Catholic, Protestant,Orthodox, Penticostal, Adventist, JW, Etc. NO DIVISION, Only Christians, holy, helping and sharing instead of buying and selling.
"That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." (John 17:9-21)

Woow. So amazing, I love this series. Can't wait to see about a KJV. Is it bad or something?

Glad you like them - they took a lot of work.
As for the KJV, lets just say that its not all its cracked up to be and not on my list of most trusted translations.
The final video will briefly discuss each major modern translation from around the KJV forward - whats good and whats bad. Those who claim (and they are many) that the KJV is the only true Protestant Christian translation, are not going to be happy.

Can't wait. One question: Is the Geneva still sold?
KenBT214 3 years ago
Suprisingly, no! It isnt in mass publication. You can find reproductions for over $300, but that is a work of art and not something to use. I suggest a good Life Application study Bible in the NASB translation and not one with someone's name on it like Ryrie or McArthur. You will find it more suitable anyway. The Geneva was in old English and IMO is more difficult to understand than the KJV. This is one reason new translations are needed.
