Had this for about 5 months now. Bought it used in June '09 with about 7600 miles on it. It came with a bunch of mods but I added a few of my own including Scorpion mufflers, FZ1 handlebar (lower and more sporty than the stock upright bars), HID lights, Warm and Safe heat-troller for my heated jacket, rim stripes, removed my passenger pegs, removed my center stand, brighter 2357 bulb in the tail light (vs. 1157 stock), to name a few.

I had it out testing out my new HID light install so the motor was running anyway so I figured I'd rev it a bit and show off a few parts. This is not a RR bike but sure is fun; it's more of a sport touring bike but you can certainly ride it like a sport bike. These days, I keep wanting to make it more on the sporty side. Sorry for the poor lighting as it's early December and we just got our first snow.

  • First check the fz6 forum as there's a lot of folks there and some folks sell their bikes. You can poke around and find out issues with the fz6, etc. and prices for new and used fz6s that folks get. Then consider buying. If I had to do again, I would look around for a mod'ed fz6 because stock fz6 is not so great esp. exhaust, handlebars, and suspension -- but it all depends on your tastes. If you buy all this stuff new, it gets expensive; if you buy used or with the mods, that's better.

  • awesome mods to your bike dude!

hey question. I see you have a top saddlery seat . how do you like it. comfy? How long can you ride with getting saddle sore?

  • @fourstroker450 Thanks. That's a great seat. I rode probably 200 miles and my butt was ok. The rest of my body was a little tired. It really beats the OEM seat for comfort. Only problem is that sliding back and forth (e.g., quick left/right turns on the twisties) is not as easy as you have to get your butt off or you just won't slide.

  • Nice bike. Contemplating selling/trading my fz1 for the 6.

  • Thanks. Hm... I think you'll enjoy better gas mileage and new bike but you'll miss the adjustable suspension that the FZ1 offers. Either way, FZs are fun bikes.

  • Thanks for the video man. Great walk-a-round. Looking at a bike just like this one - with scorpions already installed. I hope I can get it this week, if someone doesn't beat me to it.
