Kitaro's an older Anime? I thought it originated in the 80's or something?

The comic is really old. Like early 60's.

According to Wikipedia, the first version of the anime began in 1968.

Well, I've only been seeing the 80's version on TV Japan, so that's what I thought.

Quite a suprise for me then, when I saw that it is not only still going on, but has older series and a Live-action movie as well.
