Excellent scripting, excellent editing, fast car chase, a love story, a detective story, a thriller, unrequited love. These two videos and the game overall has it all - a bonafide classic!

Anyone remember how long we waited for this gem to come out? Then we all booted it up and it on our rad Pentium IIs with Voodoo2s, and it lagged out because it was pushing the q2 engine to its limit, but we kept playing anyway? Then when we got to this part, and just sat there with our jaws on the floor and didn't touch the keyboard for a while after it got back to in-game? Maybe that was just me... I have yet to see another game with such superb direction. 10x better than Cloud and Aeris, imo.

This and part one are like classic cartoon movies that the Japanese make for adults. The camera work, the script, the quality of the dialogue and the whole ambience of the two movies was more about professional film-making than gaming in my opinion!

This is my favourite game of all time. Actually, no - it's more than that - it's my favourite narrative of all time.

Thanks for posting this - I'm probably going to play through Anachronox again because of this.

Sly's arrogance and over-confidence got Sera raped and Fatima killed in one night. No wonder he became a broken-down no-hoping drunk, lost his posh office in OneGate, lost the batteries for his robot, and became a debt-slave. And it made raising Sly back up to supreme potency all the more satisfying.
