I'm a huge Johnny Dowd fan. A true original. I've been listening to him since his debut release. Be sure to check out Johnny's website. Anyone who likes this should also check out the excellent Jim White and Handsome family stuff too! I wish Kim Sherwood-Caso had some solo recordings. She is awesome!!!

This is the first ive heard from Johnny Dowd, im impressed, can anyone reccomend an album to start with?

You could not go wrong with "Cruel Words" (2006) and "Pictures from Life's Other Side" (1999), both of which got pretty much universal rave reviews. His first album "Wrong Side of Memphis" (1997) is my personal favorite.
