Payola Takes a Hit

FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein talks about the current case of Payola against the media companies Clear Channel, CBS, Citadel and Entercom. The FCC announced an agreement to settle charges against these companies, fining them 12 million dollars and a commitment for them to air a minimum amount of hours of independent music.

@LongBeach2SanDiego I agree you must be hiphop like me. Hieroglyphics have a few radio friendly songs like "make your move" and "sowento" those songs could blend well with todays radio. ADIKTO is a band that was once an independent artist. Now we got a record label, Platino Records. Even though we got the support of a well know label, there's hardly air-play. I still haven't seen this "commitment for radios to air a minimum amount of hours of independent music." If that was the case, I would so rather be "Independent" once again!
