You can drive South - North, up & down Rte 9, from Yonkers , all the way to, say, Beacon...&, if you go down side streets, explore a bit, you will find more Victorian, Gothic, Turn of the Century & 19th Century (small) houses & architecture than you know what to do with.

Sad, lots have been chopped up for apts, or otherwise altered. There are still many 19th century fixtures remaining in many of these area houses. Stained glass windows, arched windows, etc

can you visit estherwood or is it private? I have visited most of the Hudson River Estates but never Estherwood. Looks amazing. a romantic age of more gentility.
