Floyd Jones, originally from Arkansas, made fine records for J.O.B., Parrot and Chess. The haunting 'Dark Road', issued by Chess in 1952, is perhaps his greatest recording.
@cliftonmullins You might be interested in the book "Big Road Blues" by David Evans. This song goes back to Charley Patton, the Miss. Sheiks, and Tommy Johnson. Notice the stark similarity to Wolfs "Smoestack Lightning" too. Evans' book is brilliant read!
