  • Just a cool place in Israel, I guess. However, Herod the Great's ancestors came from Maresha.

You missed the OBVIOUS 2 columns at the entrance of the temple shrine, representing Jachin and Boaz of Solomon's Temple. I have a really good friend who wrote about them in a book called "Solomon's Temple: Myth & History," Thames & Hudson, p. 173. You might read that sometime - GRIN!
