pale skin is a cultural thing in asia (in europe as well in the past) where it was prized and considered beautiful as having pale skin meant one was rich and didn't need to work in the fields (dark skin=poor peasant). While asians still maintain this concept, somewhere along the line, westerners began to see being tan as beautiful as it meant you were free to play and didn't need to work. It's NOT a desire to look and be "white" nor is it being embarrassed of one's own culture and/or race

Having big eyes is in NO way a feature belonging ONLY to caucasian people. It's present in almost every other ethnicity; Indian, Middle Eastern, Black, etc. Thousands of years ago having big, clear eyes was a sign of health, and was therefore an attractive quality when searching for a mate - regardless of ethnicity. So when asians get double eyelid surgery, they don't get it to look more CAUCASIAN, they get it because its a trait that is considered beautiful in ALL ethnicities, cultures, etc.

fair skin is not a western thing, there are so many eastern asians with fair skin. It's like saying white people who go tanning want to be italian or latino or something.

@MsZhangx lol most of my family have double lids..and most of them complain that they're not 1. large enough OR 2. not deep set enough like caucasian eyes there's a lot of koreans and northern japanese that are pale naturally yes but i'm not going to have someone tell me alot of asians don't desire to have caucasian like features because i've heard things like 'deep set like caucasian eyes' and 'tall like a caucasian nose' 'small oval caucasian faces' said many times over

@MsZhangx lmao i don't think so.. being half asian myself i think asians that aren't western deffinately want to achieve a caucasian look.. like look at xiaxue she always says after her nose job even then she can't achieve the perfect caucasian nose which she says most asians want because the skin on her nostrils is too thick o____O either way just my opinion i think there's a big difference between coming from asia and being western of course

We call it whitening. Skincare companies package pretty much the same stuff and sell it in Europe and North America as "brightening" products. lol
