@Muhaw20 Good point! I was not thrilled about his accepting of the Czar's family being killed. Sybil after all is from a noble family and he seemed willing to overlook that.

I'm still not convinced that the Earl was judging on those flaws (he couldn't know could he?). He focused solely on Branson's social status and pretty much nothing else. He probably felt an American from the West would be rich and interesting enough for Mary. After all, his wife is an American heiress.

@collegeopera Well, at least the Cowboy would probably not have approved of the Czar and his family, including the children, being murdered (as Branson exclaimed in Episode 4, saying something about these things have to happen), not to mention the millions of others murdered in Russia during their horrible "Revolution". Branson has too many character flaws to be likeable. I agree with the Earl, that he seduced Sybil, and one day she'll wake up and say, "Oh no, what did I do?"
