How much music from the 60's and 70's do you listen to? Do you even understand how the progression of Tool came to be? Have you ever really listened to the words from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix? Have you ever dome anything more than just banged your head to something heavy? This is the stuff, including Rush, that these guys were inspired by, they took the influence and made Tool what it is, by respecting it AND by shredding it, evolving it. They spoke it plainly, Tool added mystery.

You know, this out of all the other comments, I think is the simpliest, and truest. I've read all the others, and it seems people just want to take my logic and turn it to more bullshit, and thats fine. its takes blue and yellow to make green, so out of my green comes the bleeding of outter parallels.
