@MrStryperfan B. B. To own your own ranch is very difficult if the land isn't inhereted. As you probably know, land is very expensive in modern times and the margin of profit is so thin on ag in general it's almost impossible to start-up a small op. But it IS possible. By having a day job for income, saving like a miser, working long hours (before and after your day job - rare vacations!) and leasing land. You slowly build your operation over the years. A. If someone really wants to ranch cattle the best option is to work for an existing ranch with a degree in Ranch Management, Farm and Ranch Management or Range and Wildlife Management. (answer B next post)
i want to grow up to be a cattle rancher really bad what i dont understand is how people get the funds to start a cattle ranch anyone got advice or an answer???
