UC Davis transplant surgeon Christoph Troppmann is now using a special minimally invasive procedure for living kidney donors. He is among only a handful of surgeons across the nation who perform the single-site, small-incision technique now being offered routinely at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. The procedure enables individuals to donate a kidney and benefit from recovery times that typically are quicker than the conventional, minimally invasive transplant surgery. This is the story of one of Troppmann's patients, who recently donated a kidney to her father.
