Here's another video of my Lionel Delaware & Hudson U30C locomotives.

These locomotives were made by Lionel in 2002 and were only available through authorized Lionel Service Centers. Some of their features include TMCC, Railsounds, Odyssey speed control, ElectroCouplers, and a fan driven smoke unit which I did not used during this video.

Lionel only made this locomotive with one road number, so both locomotives have the same number. Normally I do not like to do that, but the numbers are smaller on these locomotives, so it really isn't too noticeable.

A word of advice on these locomotives. I have three locomotives with C trucks made in 2002. Both of these as well as my Norfolk Southern SD60. On all three of them, the motor on the rear truck was not tightened when it was made. When operating in reverse, the worm gear on the motor will pull the motor down, keeping it tight. But when going forward, the work gear will push the motor up. Thankfully I caught it in time before anything else happened and tightened the motor screws. But these trucks can be challenging, to say the least, to work on.

The cars in this train is made up of rolling stock made by Atlas O, K-Line, Lionel, MTH Electric Trains, and Weaver Models. And the caboose is by MTH.

There are 2 pushers at the end of the train. One is a Weaver RS 3. This locomotive was originally a chain driven powered unit that I had problems with, so I turned it into an unpowered unit. And the second is a Lionel RS 11.

The track is K-Line tubular with O-96 curves and all three locomotives are being controlled with Lionel Legacy.

  • You're welcome and thanks for the comment. It is a cool sounding horn. The D&H was a local railroad, so it is one of my favorites.
