My mom was telling me more about my great grandmother, a Lakota Sioux, and one of her sayings, "The Earth is always speaking and singing, if one opens their hearts and listens they can hear her song." Her saying and the song "A Spark Inside Us" from The Princess and the Goblin gave me the idea for this video. :)

The man with the extra pairs of eyes in the red robe is Iktomi, a Lakota Trickster. The woman on a white buffalo is the White Buffalo Calf Maiden. The photograph is of Chief Sitting Bull.

"A Spark Inside Us" Lyrics:

Will flicker into light...

There's a spark inside us
That we can all ignite
And all that's dark inside us
Will flicker into light

There's a pow'r in every breath
There's a pow'r in every note
A pow'r that starts within the heart
A pow'r that rises through the throat
And when it sails up through the air
More beautiful than any prayer!
This pow'r could right a wrong
And it will always thrill the ear
Of those who have the pow'r to hear
The magic of this song

All that's strong inside us
That tells us wrong from right
Becomes a song inside us
To chase away the night

  • There's nothing more powerfull than courage

  • Aho Relative,

Have shared your words, but the music leaves us, with much to be desired. Remember the earth's song rings true all around you. I think this song was sung with someone who stayed inside all the time. Ah I see below it comes from a movie and I'm sure it has more meaning when viewing the whole story. I will share your heart with others, upon the hoops. Thank you. Your devoted servant, White Buffalo Calf Woman your Twin Deer Mother
