The Bremerton School District plans to begin a Spanish immersion program in the 2007-08 school year. To demonstrate a bit of what Spanish immersion looks like elsewhere, we went to Bellevue to witness the program there.

  • I'm in Spanish immersion and it's really hard in all my English classes the lowest I ever get is a B+ but in Spanish I get D and F I think that if I was not in it I could so alot better

  • @rynocl

The woman at the beginning was the principal a few years ago. The teachers all speak fluent and clear Spanish. My daughter is 24 and went through this program from kinder to 12th grade. I feel so blessed to have had this program in y district for 23 years. My son is now in the program. He is 10 y-o. You should learn more about the program before criticizing it.

  • I am currently in S I and it's so hard and i really wanna leave! :P Spanish is hard!

  • God bless her, but the woman at the beginning has a horrible accent in Spanish. "kinder y premer gradooo vayan al gamnasio. grasis."

  • ya i guess so but now im going into tillicum middles school (7th grade) and we have 2 1 credit clases, theres one teacher who NO ONE likes...not even the parents! ASK ME IF THERES ANY Qs ABOUT SI! im in njhs too!!!!

  • My children(2nd & 11th grade) have been in a Spanish Two-Way Immersion program in Lake Forest/Laguna Hills since kindergarten. My oldest son's Science courses in Junior High were taught completly in Spanish and his History courses in Spanish. As a Junior he is in AP Calculus and AP Physics. Learning to be bi-literate is only another feather in his cap. This is not an immigration issue. It is opening our eyes to the global market and giving American children the skills to compete worldwide.

  • thank you very much i've studied spanish at PDS 4 7 years! but now im alnoust fluent

  • oh and i waz also in mr.capetillo he was our science teacher but we all hated him now he's a principal somewhere but i know his son tomas and now there's a new principal

  • HEY !!!!

     I WENT 2 DIS SCHOOL

  • I'm glad I stumbled onto this! My son is in the Bremerton Spanish Immersion kindergarten. It is fabulous! I cannot imagine a better educational experience for him. I'm sad to say we're moving this summer (Navy) and he won't be able to continue. I wish there was an immersion program where we're moving!
