The final night of nationals was filled with special events. We were graced with a special apperance from one of the finest mares in the history of the Arabian industry. Ericca.....
I worked for the Shea's back in 94-95, and remember Ericca fondly. She was massive, and lovely, and a total class act. Does anyone know if she's produced anything half as good?
Yeah same for the paints and quarter horses. I don't like that a halter horse, who's good conformation is based on how well it will help them work and move, is usually not broke and doesn't show under saddle.
an Arabian horse does not fit with a man wearing a pant and a shirt. It fits with an Arab guy like me. I have Arabian horse , very beautiful and it always runs coming to me when it sees me :) very cute..........
sounds like things haven't changed much since i used to follow these shows/rules so closely. yes and then how many in these classes they compete in? duh???
I agree. As of right now, to be a national champion halter horse, to have to have a certain amount of points as performance horse. But it's not very many. I think a 2nd place at a Class A show will qualify them. I don't think that's enough.
Unfortunately competition at this level not many horses win at both halter and performance. Bred differently, ALL arabians should be able to look beautiful as well as have good movement. The judging standards need some work in this area as do the showing/training standards.
