  • @techniskull: I mean if you have a PHYSICAL access to ONE of the DOMAIN CONTROLLERS, you can by the steps defined in this video:

1- Change the "Directory Service Restore Mode" Password on this domain controller.

2- Chang the Domain Administrator password of the AD Domain.

  • At 5:20 you specify username password and the /Domain however I notice your domain when you successfully login in TESTDOMAIN. Should the entry into the registry be the actual domain, in your case TESTDOMAIN or the word Domain as your directions show? Not having any luck with this but I do like the video!

    Thanks

  • @chuk3rs no, just the word /Domain , this is used to make the command understand that it will reset a domain user account not a local account..

One hing you should make sure about , is your domain password policy,

for exanple, if the password policy requires a complix password with minimum lenth of 8 characters,

you must use a password that match this requirment.

  • please Explain

What are you mean to change,ie password of Active directory server on the same machine you are logged in?or this method is working to change password of A 2003 server from a client??

  • Great video, but I have a few questions... Would this also work on laptops that have workplace domain user accounts or is it just for servers/domain controllers? Would it work on a Windows 7 business laptop? Doesn't Vista and 7's UAC interfere? Can we place the 3 files on the same folder on Vista and 7 computers or should we use some other folder to avoid Vista/7 folder permissions and access restrictions? Thanks.

  • Many many thanks!

  • I was reading somewhere that this doesn't work with Server2003 Standard. Do you have any input on that?

  • Ok, will try that again and see what I get.

I am using P@ssw0rd01 but still no luck, server is rebooting now-
