I wonder if this would have been as hipster if the tar was heated to 150+ degrees like it was when people were actually tarred and feathered for real.

actually tar can be hot as hell's fires but it can be left to simmer until its just a gooey mass, neither hot nor cold. first you have to heat it to five hundred degrees, tho! People mistake tarpits to be hot but the tarpits really bubbles from methane gas and its as hot as the temperature of the day. I can understand people's skepticism. and No they're right. when they TFed someone, they removed every piece of garment. the flesh was made to suffer and burn.
