Switched off, the OLEDs in the smart forvision are fully transparent, allowing light to enter freely from outside by day. In the dark, the transparency gives an effect of luminous glass.
OLEDs create a pleasant, diffuse light that can be adjusted to suit the lighting situation. It casts no hard shadows and in that way increases passenger comfort.
OLEDs are more efficient than conventional lightbulbs and energy saving lamps. They radiate less heat and in that way add to energy efficiency in the smart forvision. Disposal is environmentally safe.

@Razor4ever only in some countries? there are actually countries, where it's acceptable to drive around with your light on, not being able to clearly see objects in front of one's car because of reflections of the interior?

it's only progress if you manage to illuminate the same space with less energy. and not encourage people to waste even more. because i would bet that the flexibilities of OLED combined with the megalomania of people in charge for designing public spaces will result in even more waste than today.
and... illuminating car interiors as example? who the hell needs that in the first place? i've maybe switched on the light inside a car ten times in my life.

The problem is that when the car will illuminate in the darm, it will not be accepted in traffic in some countries.
